Aaron is a Technical Architect who brings 10 years of Salesforce expertise and more than 25 years in technology overall, spanning web development, systems architecture, and running his own software company before designing and delivering complex Salesforce solutions for enterprise clients.
How did you get started with Salesforce?
In 2016, a friend asked if I knew anyone who did Salesforce development. I didn't — I'd never touched the platform — but the opportunity was compelling, so I taught myself and was taking on client projects within a couple of weeks. What started as a favor turned into a career.
What’s your favorite thing about building solutions with Salesforce?
After 25 years across web, e-commerce, and custom software, I appreciate how Salesforce lets me focus on solving the actual business problem instead of reinventing infrastructure every time. Every client is different, and I like architecting a solution that fits the way they really work.
What energizes you at work?
Complex builds with a lot of moving parts — the kind where you have to understand the whole business before you can design the right architecture. The positive response from clients when it all comes together is a big part of what keeps me going. It also helps that Rosetree is such an encouraging place to work; being surrounded by a genuinely talented team makes tackling big, demanding projects that much more rewarding.
Name a work achievement you are proud of.
Over the years I've delivered a number of large, complex enterprise builds and stayed on long-running engagements spanning multiple years. Earning that kind of ongoing trust with high-stakes work is what I'm most proud of.
Who or what inspires you?
My family, and a genuine curiosity about what's next in technology. After 25 years, still learning something new every day is what keeps me going.
What’s one thing you recently learned or are learning now?
Agentic development — figuring out how to put AI agents to work on real problems. After 25 years in tech, staying on the front edge of what's changing is half the fun.
What three words would your friends use to describe you?
Curious, adaptable, easygoing
What's something you love about where you live?
Central Oregon has it all — rivers, lakes, and mountains right out the door, plus great breweries and food. There's never a shortage of things to do.
What could we find you doing outside of work? (hobbies and interests)
Spending time with my wife and kids, getting away from the desk, and out experiencing new things — usually near the water, always chasing good food, and never turning down a good local beer.
What trend do you hope makes a comeback?
Prioritizing quality over quantity - quality experiences, real craftsmanship, and being fully present for them. Making time for good food, great company, and things worth savoring.
What’s your go-to karaoke song?
My wife and I are big karaoke fans (mostly at home). At a bar, I'd go with "Lonely Day" by System of a Down or "House of the Rising Sun" by The Animals.
