Julian Janssen has worked in the Salesforce ecosystem for 7+ years, working both a variety of consultancy/agency roles and as an in-house administrator and analyst for a SaaS organization. He specializes in sales and marketing operations, helping design systems that can optimize Go-To-Market strategies.

Your Work

How did you get started with Salesforce?

I initially learned about Salesforce CRM and got my hands on an org via a sales class in college, then actually started my career in the ecosystem with a role at Rosetree in 2018, supporting marketing content generation while starting to learn the platform and engage with clients.

What’s your favorite thing about building solutions with Salesforce?

It's a deep and wide canvas, every project is a learning opportunity to explore new features and aspects of the platform. I enjoy honing the craftsmanship involved and continuing to improve the quality and scalability of solution design.

What energizes you at work?

Beyond the technical aspects of the platform, one of my favorite aspects of the ecosystem is the diversity of backgrounds and experiences. With every new project is also the opportunity to meet new people, understand their perspectives and unique business challenges, as well as teach and share my own experiences, which makes every day unique and engaging.

Name a work achievement you are proud of.

One of my favorite project types and specialty areas is helping companies start to articulate the revenue impact of marketing initiatives, via integrating data from multiple channels and looking at multi-touch influence breakout. I've been fortunate to execute many projects like this, as well as train and help others upskill in the area. It's an area many legacy businesses have struggled in, and helping marketing teams start to articulate that value and impact of their efforts and make thoughtful optimizations is very rewarding!

Your Mindset

Who or what inspires you?

I appreciate thoughtful entrepreneurship, and admire companies and leaders that can find a unique market perspective, then build and scale a successful organization around that.

What’s one thing you recently learned or are learning now?

Professionally, I've been brushing up on B2C marketing automation and quoting processes and toolsets to expand my technical knowledge and prep for some new projects. Personally, I have also been on a journey the last year or so to be a better home chef!

What three words would your friends use to describe you?

Thoughtful, reliable, calm

What's something you love about where you live?

Fort Worth has an oasis of small business - coffee shops, record stores, breweries, restaurants and lots of walkable areas. I really love the family, friends, and community I've built here and still enjoy exploring the city with these people.

What could we find you doing outside of work?

If Texas weather permits like to get outside and run on the trails around town or play pickleball with friends.  Otherwise if I'm staying home, playing guitar and listening to my record collection.

What trend do you hope makes a comeback?

Movie Theaters! I know it's not gone but it doesn't seem like the community experience quite recovered from COVID and movie streaming. I really appreciate the handful of smaller, curated theaters around DFW where I can go enjoy interesting films with friends.
