Matheus is a senior developer with expertise in LWC and Apex. He has worked with multiple Salesforce clouds and currently has 14 Salesforce certifications.
How did you get started with Salesforce?
I was working as a Java developer and had a friend working with Salesforce. He showed me Trailhead and I loved it, it was completely different from what I had seen before. After some time, I decided to give it a shot and interviewed at his company for a Salesforce Developer position, and I've been working with Salesforce ever since.
What’s your favorite thing about building solutions with Salesforce?
I like the flexibility it provides. You often have multiple ways to do something, for example, if I need to build a custom screen, I can opt for a low or pro code approach, depending on the requirements. The same applies to automations and even integrations.
What energizes you at work?
I love solving complex issues and seeing something I built being used by other people.
Name a work achievement you are proud of.
I'm very proud of a massive project where I led a team of developers to redesign the customer's entire sales path, and then months after the project ended, I've heard from the customer's IT Manager that after many years of having to work during the holidays, she was finally able to take a vacation, because the system "just worked" and she didn't have to worry about it.
Who or what inspires you?
That's a good question! My greatest inspirations are my mom and dad, as they guided and taught me lessons that would prove invaluable in my future.
What’s one thing you recently learned or are learning now?
Spanish. As a Brazilian, I speak Portuguese, but I never learned Spanish, so it makes it harder for me to visit our neighbors in South America.

What's something you love about where you live?
São Paulo is the largest city in the Americas, and we have a lot of diversity here. I love that I can take the subway and go to a neighborhood that is completely different from where I live, such as "Liberdade", that is a massive Japanese neighborhood, or "Bixiga" which has amazing Italian restaurants. And we have amazing pizza!! hahaha
What could we find you doing outside of work?
I love playing video games, but I also enjoy going out to eat or simply hanging out at a bar with my friends.
What trend do you hope makes a comeback?
Here in Brazil we love soccer, and we used to gather with family and friends to make a barbecue and watch our national team play. I hope one day we bring back this tradition, but I guess that depends on the team getting better hahaha
What’s your go-to karaoke song?
I don't love karaoke, but I enjoy singing by myself. The two songs I often get myself singing are Angie from the Rolling Stones and Black from Pearl Jam
